Photo Essay: Colorful Cape Town, South Africa

April 3, 2013 by Caroline Eaton 8 Comments

Cape Town is a city easy to fall for. Its European feel, obsession with good food and coastal setting draw many visitors.

Table Mountain, the Cape of Good Hope, Penguins, Great White Sharks, and Braais, Cape Town is full of delicious foods, activities to explore and amazing people. And did I mention the wine? Spend the weekend…or heck, spend the entire week exploring Stellenbosch and Franschhoek visiting some of the 158 wineries.

What I loved most and stood out in the long run was the vibrant colors surrounding the city. Everywhere you looked there was dramatic beauty staring you in the face.

I’m visiting Cape Town now and love everything about the city…explored Table Mountain today! Took your recommendation and will be be staying at Lairds Lodge in Plettinberg Bay for 4 nights beginning Sunday.

Dan you are going to love Lairds Lodge (we are jealous)! We still dream about their breakfasts and beautiful rooms. Are you stopping at other places along the Garden Route?

Email us and send stories from your trip!

I think I’m a little late but we loved Tsitsikamma National Park!

Beautiful pictures… The color is very bright. I love the house and wall color. The cappuciono also seems delicious.. 🙂

Thank you – the colors were so vibrant, my camera got tired after that trip because everything caught my eye!

We also enjoyed the food, people, and vibrancy of Cape Town. It is a truly beautiful city. Stephie spent 5 months there on a university exchange, and Eric visited her for 3 weeks. What stood out about our time together was our Garden Route road trip (where we bungee jumped off Bloukrans Bridge and stayed at some amazing accommodations), our self-driven/organized Cape Peninsula tour, and of course our tour of 5 wineries in the Stellenbosch wine lands!
