Yes, in my head I hear Europe singing to me every time I do this workout. You don’t have to listen to all 5 minutes, but at least fast forward to minute 1:59 and you too can experience what I hear!
A fun workout I do with some of my clients is called The Final Countdown. You do the circuit one time through, and each exercise decreases by 10 reps. Your first time should take around 45 minutes, and you will get quicker as you get stronger. This is a starter workout if you haven’t done high rep routines like this before. Try it out and let me know how your workout goes!
Warm Up
30 seconds Plank
30 seconds Side Plank (each side)
15 Pushups
30 seconds Mountain Climbers
10 Burpees
The Final Countdown
100 – Jumping Jacks
90 – Bicycle Crunches
80 – Squats
70 – Plank (35 leg lifts either side)
60 – Alternating Lunges
50 – Bridge exercise
40 – Mountain Climbers
30 – Tricep Dips
20 – Side Plank Dips (each side)
10 – Burpees
*Spend time on your Cool Down and Stretching!
Workout Rules:
- Get through the exercises as fast as possible while maintaining good form.
- You can take breaks when needed (You don’t have to do all 80 squats in a row, take a break at 40 or 20)
- Have Fun!

I like it. I’m a work out enthusiast myself and am constantly wondering how best to stay in shape abroad (and you know, there is a difference between being in shape and muscle building that should not be taken lightly). I haven’t seen much dedication to exercise on other travel blogs and I will certainly turn here when I craft my own routine.

Thanks Dave! I left my job as a personal trainer in Chicago so I am having withdrawal. I still struggle with working out in the 90 degree heat in Asia. Look out for more workouts posted up – I am ramping up my motivation!
Lots of Jumping Rope and Pushups 🙂
