Gaining an Appreciation of Birding in the Galapagos

December 5, 2012 by Caroline Eaton 2 Comments

I have never been a fan of birds. In Costa Rica a few years ago I can vividly remember standing with a couple we met for about an hour with my neck craned looking into the trees and the hundreds of birds flying above us. After that experience I questioned why anyone would ever want to be a “birder”.

It took a trip to the Galapagos Islands to understand and gain a sudden fascination with birds.

These birds were incredible and Cecibel, our guide with Ecoventura, did an amazing job explaining the whats, whys and hows of each beautiful creature. Here are some of the fantastic photos we got while birding in the Galapagos.
